Knowledge & Innovation Civic Center (AJF-KICC)

At the heart of the Ahmed Juffali Foundation (AJF) is the AJF Knowledge & Innovation Civic Center (AJF-KICC), a place created to bring people, knowledge, and practical experience together to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The Center focuses on areas that have a direct impact on everyday life, including education, healthcare, and inclusive design. It brings together specialists and experienced professionals who can share guidance, practical solutions, and proven approaches with families, educators, caregivers, organizations, and other professionals working in the field.

AJF-KICC is also a place where more than 40 years of experience and knowledge can be shared. Over the years, a wide range of programs, training materials, research, and practical tools have been developed. Rather than keeping this knowledge within one organization, the aim is to make it available to others who can use it, adapt it, and build on it.

The Center is built around the idea that real progress happens when people share what they know, learn from one another, and work together. Through collaboration, training, consultation, and knowledge exchange, AJF-KICC hopes to help strengthen services and create more inclusive opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities across Saudi Arabia and the wider Arab region.

In keeping with AJF’s philanthropic mission, the Center provides its knowledge-sharing and support services at no cost, so that access to useful expertise and resources is not limited by an organization’s or family’s ability to pay.

Charitable Medical Fund

The Charitable Medical Fund provides health-related support to children and adults who are enrolled in one of the Help Center’s programs.

Through the Fund, eligible beneficiaries may receive support for essential medical needs such as speech and hearing equipment, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, and selected surgical or medical items, subject to the Foundation’s internal policies and approval procedures.

The aim is to help ensure that Help Center beneficiaries with intellectual disabilities have access to the medical support and equipment they need to improve their health, independence, and quality of life.

The Fund is not open to the general public and is available only to beneficiaries currently enrolled in Help Center programs.

Family Charity Fund

Family Support & Training Grants

Families play a central role in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Their understanding, encouragement, and involvement can make a real difference in helping their children grow in confidence, independence, and participation in the wider community.

Through the Family Charity Fund, Ahmed A. Al-Juffali Charitable Foundation supports children and adults who are enrolled in one of the Help Center’s programs, together with their families, by providing opportunities for training, guidance, and development in line with the Foundation’s internal policies and eligibility criteria.

The Fund may support training and educational opportunities that help families better understand intellectual disability, strengthen their ability to support their children, and become more aware of their rights, needs, and available opportunities.

The aim is to build a stronger support system around each beneficiary by helping families feel more informed, confident, and better equipped to support their children at home and in the wider community.

Support under this Fund is not available to the general public. It is intended only for children and adults currently enrolled in one of the Help Center’s programs, together with their families.

Community Activities Charitable Fund

 Volunteer Opportunities – Desert Helpers

The Community Activities Charitable Fund creates meaningful volunteer opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them the chance to take an active role in their community, contribute to others, and continue developing their skills.

Through the Desert Helpers Volunteer Group, Help Center graduates aged 21 and above take part in a variety of community and volunteer activities based on their individual interests, abilities, and strengths.

Volunteer opportunities may include supporting community events, helping with activities and initiatives, welcoming participants and guests, assisting with simple organizational tasks, and taking part in projects that give back to the community.

The purpose goes beyond simply keeping members active. Volunteering gives them the opportunity to take responsibility, build confidence, meet new people, use the skills they have developed, and experience the pride that comes from contributing to their community.

Most importantly, the program recognizes that people with intellectual disabilities should not only be seen as recipients of support. They also have skills, time, and talents to offer, and volunteering gives them a meaningful way to share them.

Sports Development Charity Fund

Desert Gazelles Sports Team

Sport is an important part of building confidence, discipline, independence, and a sense of belonging. It also gives people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to develop their abilities, challenge themselves, and be recognized for what they can achieve.

With this in mind, the Desert Gazelles Sports Team was established in 2009 to provide structured sports and training opportunities for athletes from the Help Center and Dirat Ajdadi programs.

Through regular coaching and training, athletes are encouraged to develop their skills across a range of sports and to take part in competitions, sporting events, and community activities. When appropriate opportunities arise, selected athletes may also participate in national and international competitions and represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

But the value of the program goes far beyond medals and competition. Sport helps athletes learn teamwork, commitment, perseverance, responsibility, and self-confidence. It also creates friendships, encourages healthy and active lifestyles, and gives athletes a stronger presence in their community.

Above all, the Desert Gazelles gives athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to be recognized for their ability, dedication, and potential.

Support through this Fund is intended for children and adults enrolled in eligible Help Center programs and is not offered as a general public sports program.

Creative Arts & Performance Charity Fund

Desert Knights – Fann4All-Saudi Arabia

The Creative Arts & Performance Charity Fund uses the arts as a way for people with intellectual disabilities to express themselves, build confidence, discover their talents, and take an active part in the cultural life of their community.

Through the “Desert Knights” performing troup and the Fann4All– Saudi Arabia program, children and adults are given opportunities to explore different forms of creative expression, including theatre, performance, movement, music, visual arts, and other creative activities.

The focus is not simply on teaching artistic skills. It is about giving each participant the space to discover what they enjoy, develop their own strengths, and express themselves in a way that feels natural and meaningful to them.

Training and participation in the arts can help build confidence, communication, teamwork, discipline, creativity, and independence. It also gives participants the chance to perform, exhibit their work, take part in events, and share their talents with a wider audience.

An equally important part of the program is changing how the community sees people with intellectual disabilities. By placing their talent, creativity, and achievements at the center, the program helps move the conversation away from disability and toward ability, contribution, and potential.

Through performances, exhibitions, workshops, and community events, “Desert Knights” troup and Fann4All program create opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to be seen, heard, appreciated, and included as artists and performers in their own right.

Support through this Fund is intended for children and adults enrolled in eligible Help Center programs and is not offered as a general public arts program.
